Composition Notes
A year after the death of my father at age 15, I composed my first String Quartet. However, I later made a new arrangement of the work for string orchestra and renamed it as Suite No. 1 “The Dreamer”. “The Widow’s Song” is the second movement from the suite – a beautiful, evocative piece that was a favourite with audiences.
