Composition Notes
After a year of saving his earnings, Michael was finally able to purchase his first electronic keyboard in the summer of 1994. With great enthusiasm, he began practicing piano and at last composed his first composition on the new keyboard. The resulting work became one of his mother’s favourite songs. The piece has literary associations with an unfinished novel he was working on at that time called “The Vulgard of Bonn” and he even attempted to write lyrics for the song, but he soon gave up and instead moved on to other music projects.
30 years later, after looking through the original piano manuscript, Michael decided to make a new arrangement for large orchestra.
